Frequently Asked Questions

Vistime is a new generation of software that not only allows for almost any type of media to be displayed within the single application but also allows multiple users to collaborate on the multiple media items – all within the single application. To make use of the conferencing ability and currently the multiple file type facility you will need a valid license to use vistime. We currently offer a free 21 day trial, so if you would like to try out vistime please click here for your free trial

All data throughout the vistime network is encrypted using Advanced Data Encryption (AES) and is transported via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technologies. These are industry standard secure connections and are generally the same level of security that would be offered by your banks internet banking facilities. Your personal data is also protected under the privacy policy available here

Generally vistime will attempt to work around your firewall by passing traffic through the standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) port 443. However, if you are inside a corporate or enterprise branch, you may experience issues due to a proxy server or other filtering device. If this is the case please notify your IT technicians to contact us and we will endeavor to tailor a solution for your corporation.

Whilst vistime will function on any computer that is running Windows 2000. We do recommend at least a 1Ghz machine with 512MB of ram installed. If you are planning to use the video and or 3D files within the vistime application we also recommend that you have at least 1GB of ram and a 3D graphics card.

Currently vistime will only run on a Windows platform, we are in the process of building a Mac version. If you are running boot camp, parallels, vmware or any other Windows emulation software you will be able to run vistime within the Windows Operating System.

Vistime supports a very large variety of file-types, however some licenses allow the use of only some of the file-types mentioned below. If you need to know what file-types are supported by your license please click here. For a full list of file-types please click here

Currently vistime does not include a Voice product. However there are many free web conferencing applications out there that do this, else most phone carriers offer a paid teleconferencing facility.

You are able to install vistime on as many machines as you see fit. However, your license will only allow you to log into vistime on one machine at one time (1 concurrent login). You are then entitled to create as many conferences within your profile as you like, once you log out and log in at another machine those conferences will re-appear. That said, you may only activate 1 conference at any one time (unless your license permits you to activate more).

You are then able to invite guests (or seats) within your conference. Generally you will be able to invite up-to 5 participants to your conference (unless your license permits you to invite more participants).

For a full list of the licensing allowances please click here.

Unlike other software where the license only permits you to install the software on one computer at one time, you may install the vistime software on as many machines as you like (given you have permission to do so), however you may login to vistime using your email address and password at one computer at one time.

Due to the way vistime transmits its data, the files are all shared between participants at the beginning (and also throughout) the conference. This allows you to view the files in their native format which is crisper and much less slower than other Remote Desktop based applications. Vistime will function on a connection as slow as a GSM cellular connection (roughly 9kbit/seconds) however at that connection speed, certain aspects of the application will not function as expected unless the media is preloaded.

The below table is what you can expect out of the vistime application based on your internet connection speed. Please note that you are responcible for any data charges that are in place by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
